Time to Eat Diner is Central Jersey's most famous classic American diner, and the one with the most unforgettable name!

With its rich history, convenient central location, first-class cuisine, and casual yet elegant atmosphere, Time to Eat Diner has pleased thousands of loyal customers over the years.

History

Previously known as the "Bridgewater Diner," Time to Eat Diner received its memorable name after being acquired in 1994 by its current owners. The name reminds its customers that, after all, it's always "time to eat!" The most recent renovation was completed on January 25, 2007 and features a newly designed interior and exterior facade.

The 200-seat restaurant features three separate dining areas: two large dining rooms and a middle stretch that includes a classic diner service counter. The fifties may be gone, but Time to Eat Diner is here to stay: alive with the original all-american spirit of the classic "diner" restaurant, a rapidly disappearing facet of New Jersey history and heritage. Its shining clocks and bright, lively interior, complete with the jukebox, the burgers, and the milkshakes, all retain the classic diner atmosphere.

Distinctions

Ever since Time to Eat Diner opened its doors on March 17 of 1994, its customer base has been growing. The success is largely due to word-of-mouth acclaim, although it also continues to receive honorable public distinction in the area media, including winning the Courier News' "Best Diner" title for several years in the "Strictly the Best" reader poll! These are no small awards, and Time to Eat Diner is proud to have such supportive and loyal patrons.

Sponsorship

Since its opening, Time to Eat Diner has played a crucial role in the local community. It bravely remained open during the blizzard of 1996 at the request of the Bridgewater Township police chief to feed workers, plow drivers, and police officers who worked around the clock during the storm.

Time to Eat Diner is the proud sponsor of many organizations and charitable causes, including:

  • SHIP, an organization dedicated to helping the area homeless.
  • The Bradly Gardens Rescue Squad
  • Encore Fundraising Committee
  • P.G.E.I of America Charitable Foundation
  • The Somerset County 4H Organization
  • The Bridgewater Township Halloween Festival
  • The Battleship New Jersey Historical Museum Society
